The petroglyphs at Anasazi Ridge

Just like I said, I'd be getting myself a new outfit for my outdoor activities and here it is!
Adorable, yes, I know. Now I totally look the part! Just last weekend Chase and I decided to take advantage of one of St. George's local attractions, Anasazi petroglyphs overlooking the Santa Clara river just 15 minutes out of St. George. We started off on the trail and had gotten to the point in the hike where the trail loops back on itself to return to the car and we were a little bummed because we hadn't seen very many petroglyphs at all. I had seen pictures of other peoples' trips and the petroglyphs that they saw and knew we were missing something so we doubled back the way we had came. Yes, at the very beginning of the hike we were supposed to take a little branch off of the trail down into the rocks where all the petroglyphs were. Glad we figured that one out! The trip wasn't a waste after all.
This one we couldn't see because of the angle of the sun but I think I deserve creativity points for casting chase's shadow over it to see it.
It was a fun trip for Chase and me to do together and it was nice to get out of our apartment that we seem to always be cooped up in. Can't wait for our next adventure!

Angel's Landing hike at Zions National Park

Tell me this isn't absolutely beautiful! Over the Martin Luther King holiday, entrance into Zions National Park was free. One of the girls in my dental hygiene program invited me to go and I couldn't resist! There weren't very many people there that day which was nice but it was a bit nippy. Nothing a little bit of exertion can't take care of! The hike we decided to tackle was Angel's Landing. What a FUN hike!
Tell me that doesn't look fun! For those of you who haven't been to Zions yet, you've gotta try this hike!
And here's my lovely friend Casey that was kind enough to bring me along...
This definitely motivated me to get out more and take advantage of what southern Utah has to offer. Not only do I want to experience the destinations but I need to be more active in general as well.
During the hike everyone we passed were decked out in their "hiking" gear. You know, the black spandex leggings and their fleece tops. Don't you worry, I'll be investing in some "hiking" outfits as well. Just you wait! Whatever it takes to motivate me right?
